Come and say hello, Tonka,
Today’s a special day.
It’s your birthday!
Not so exciting, you say?
I’ve brought apples.
Yep, that’s what I thought you’d think.
Tonka turns eleven today. He’s heading into his peak athletic years, which for horses are their teens. But horses can live into their twenties, and even into their thirties. I’m hoping to celebrate many, many more birthdays with this good horse.
Have an especially happy day, Tonka!
Jess and I wish Tonka a very Happy Birthday, hope you were able to have a nice ride but snow looks a bit thick. Keep warm, stay safe. All the best from UK…:)
More snow coming!
I love your posts. Brainy and inspiring. I’m also working on my flatwork and enjoy your comments and observations. Are Tonka’s toes a little long? Keep up the great feed…
Thank you for your nice comment! Tonka gets a trim and new shoes every 5 weeks. I think what you’re seeing is a terrible camera angle and he has on winter pads (to keep the snow from balling up) which makes his hooves look long. We’ve used the same farrier for 3 years and she’s brilliant 🙂
Happy birthday beautiful Tonka. I wish you both many more happy years together. I can see the twinkle in his eye at the thought of apples!
He’s a twinkly sort of guy 🙂
Happy Birthday Tonka, may you and Terry have many, many more together.
Thanks, Gin, that’s what I hope for, too.
Happy birthday Tonka!
